About the project

The participants of the General Conference of UNESCO that took place in November 2013 in Paris positively evaluated joint Lithuanian, Polish and Belarusian initiatives and included the 250th birth anniversary of Michał Kleofas Ogiński into the list of anniversaries important for world culture, education, science and historical memory.  In a half a year, on June 3, 2014, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the resolution No. XII-907 “On the declaration of 2015 as the year of Michał Kleofas Ogiński and the programme for the commemoration of the 250th birth anniversary of Michał Kleofas Ogiński”. The project was implemented based on the resolution No. 1436 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, as of December 15, 2014, “On the confirmation of the action plan for the commemoration of the 250th birth anniversary of Michał Kleofas Ogiński”.
